This 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible is finished in red over red vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 390ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated white soft top, 15″ steel wheels, chrome bumpers, power windows, cruise control, front bucket seats, a swing-away steering wheel, and an AM radio. The car was said to have undergone cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment under previous ownership and was acquired by the current owner in 2021. Work carried out in anticipation of the sale included installing a horn, performing a compression test, and replacing the mufflers, spark plugs and wires, speedometer cable, and flasher switch.
The car left the factory finished in red (T) and is said to have been placed on a rotisserie and refinished under previous ownership. Details include a power-operated white soft top, dual mirrors, chrome bumpers, and a dual outlet exhaust system that exits below the rear bumper.
The 15″ steel wheels wear Thunderbird-branded full covers and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown narrow-whitewall tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a contoured rear bench trimmed in red vinyl accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a center console, cruise control, a power trunk release, power windows, rubber floor mats, and an AM radio. A replacement horn switch was installed in April 2023, and the emergency flasher switch was replaced.
The two-spoke swing-away steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer along with auxiliary gauges indicating oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles, and the total mileage is unknown. The speedometer cable was replaced in March 2023.
The 390ci V8 is equipped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor as well as a blue-finished air cleaner assembly. Work carried out in anticipation of the sale consisted of performing a compression test and replacing the mufflers along with the spark plugs and wires.
